For over 180 years the Harvard University Choir has provided a unique opportunity for student singers to perform great choral literature at the highest level, both in concert and during the services of the Memorial Church.

The Harvard University Choir, more commonly referred to as the University Choir or simply UChoir, is Harvard University's oldest choir. It has provided choral music for the Harvard Memorial Church and its predecessor church for over 180 years, and is Harvard's only professional choir.

THE HARVARD CHORUSES - Home
HRC is a mixed chorus made up of 120 undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, staff, and community members. The ensemble presents two major choral-orchestral performances per year exploring a wide range of repertoire. Members represent a variety of music backgrounds and experience levels.

Harvard University Choir performs Alessandro Scarlatti’s Messa ottoboniana and motets of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. The Scarlatti will be performed from a new edition by Prof. Luca Della Libera (of the conservatory in Frosinone, Italy), who will also be present to speak about the music at the beginning of the concert.

The University Choir provides choral music for the Harvard Memorial Church and is under the direction of Edward Jones, Gund University Organist and Choirmaster; Jones also conducts the Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus, a symphonic choir drawn from the larger Harvard community and the Cambridge area.
