The Eliot Bridge is a bridge over the Charles River between Cambridge, Massachusetts and Allston, Boston, Massachusetts. It connects Soldiers Field Road in Allston with Gerry's Landing Road, Memorial Drive, Greenough Boulevard, and the Fresh Pond Parkway in Cambridge.

MassDOT is making improvements to preserve the historic Eliot Bridge over the Charles River and extend the life of the structure. Construction will begin in Fall 2024. Improvements will include brick replacements, sidewalk widening, roadway repairs, and lighting improvements.

During peak hours, two travel lanes will remain open in each direction utilizing lane shifts and temporary barriers. Pedestrian access will be maintained on one side of the bridge and will entail a pedestrian detour route.

Sep 22, 2023 · Last night MassDOT held an informational meeting about plans to rehabilitate the Eliot Bridge. The Eliot Bridge is the heavily used river-crossing that connects Route 2 and the Fresh Pond Parkway to Soldiers Field Road.

The portion of the reservation between the Charles River Dam and the Eliot Bridge is listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. This includes the park in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston known as the Esplanade .

The Eliot Memorial Bridge is a footbridge which was built in 1904 in memory of Charles Eliot, landscape architect to the Metropolitan Park Commission. It is located on the Skyline Trail near the summit of Great Blue Hill in the Blue Hills Reservation, south of Boston, Massachusetts.

The historic Eliot Bridge was constructed in 1950. It is named for Charles Eliot, former president of Harvard University. Today, the bridge is in fair condition and exhibits several deficiencies which require repair including the concrete encasements, sidewalks, railings, and bridge joints.

All of the parkways, bridges, and canals bounding the park have been listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Charles River Reservation Parkways.
