The suspect for the Stoneybatter knife horror was on bail at the time of the attack, it has emerged. The Irish Mirror has established that he was facing charges connected to the seizure of around €5,000 worth of cannabis and ecstasy in Dublin in 2023. He was charged over the seizure and before the courts, but had been released on bail.

One person was killed and five others wounded in stabbings in the center of the town of Villach. A man from Syria was arrested at the scene.

The man accused of stabbing six people in southern Austria in broad daylight, killing a 14-year-old boy, was motivated by “Islamic terrorism”, officials have said.
