A Detroit man accused of a crash last weekend that left an off-duty city police officer dead has been charged, officials said. Dayjon Antwian Macon, 28, was arraigned Thursday through 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

"Not only do I find him to be a flight risk based on his past behavior, leaving the scene of the accident, I do think he is a danger to the community if he continues to drive," the judge said.

Authorities said the Highland Park reserve police officer victimized in the shootings does not know the suspect, or why he'd be shooting at his house.
