Parents, students and leaders express concerns at Metro Public Schools' board meeting just six days after a deadly school shooting.

MNPD responded to the school where three students were shot, including the suspect, who shot himself, according to police.

Police are on the scene at Antioch High School near Nashville after shots were fired in the building on Wednesday.

Police say a shooting at a Nashville high school has left one student dead and another woulded. Metro Nashville Police spokesperson Don Aaron said during a news conference that the 17-year-old gunman later shot and killed himself with a handgun.

One student was killed and another was injured after a shooting at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee. The shooter was identified as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson. Henderson turned the gun on himself after shooting the victims. He is deceased.

One 16-year-old girl named Josselin Corea Escalante was killed, and two other students were injured. The injured students were taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics for medical attention. The shooter shot himself and died from the self-inflicted wound.

It's been a week since the deadly shooting at Antioch High School, which renewed concerns over safety in schools.

Threats against schools and institutions are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted.”
