Lee's office on Wednesday released details of a new legislative proposal that will be considered in next week's special session.

A special session primarily developed around Gov. Bill Lee's signature education voucher proposal will now also include prominent immigration issues.

Lee’s agenda includes a framework to “strengthen immigration enforcement across Tennessee by creating a new division within the Department of Safety, supporting local law enforcement participation in federal programs, and revisiting state-issued identification policies,” according to a press release from the governor’s office.
