Buckle up, we've got some action on the NHL's waiver wire today. First up, Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer who was placed on waivers yesterday, has cleared waivers and is on the move to the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Grubauer has struggled in 21 starts this season, losing 16 of them. His .866 save percentage and 3.83 goals-against average rank last in the NHL this season among netminders who have played in at least 17 games.
No other NHL team wanted to take on the contract of Philipp Grubauer, so he cleared waivers. Here is what the Kraken have planned for their goalie.
The Sharks sent him to the AHL to begin the season, and he was 9-4-2 record with a 2.00 goals-against average, .938 save percentage and three shutouts in 14 games. He has since taken on a heavy workload this month in the NHL, with a 4-5-2 record, 2.87 GAA and .905 save percentage in 12 games (11 starts).
