A fire crew of 2,104 has been working on site and, as of Wednesday afternoon, they managed to contain 91% of the fire. However, investigations into the cause are ongoing.
Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,448 acres after being active for 15 days. A crew of 4,335 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 68% of the fire by Wednesday morning. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.

A brush fire erupted amid powerful winds Wednesday afternoon in the Castaic area in the northern region of Los Angeles County, spreading quickly to 10,176 acres near the freeway, officials said.
The unincorporated community of Castaic is about 15 miles northwest of the city of Santa Clarita and borders the Angeles National Forest. Approximately 31,000 residents in the area are under evacuation orders, while 23,000 are under evacuation warnings, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna.
