Gibson, who stopped 9 of 10 shots in the first period, was replaced by Lukas Dostal to start the second. The Ducks confirmed Gibson would not return to the game following his removal from it. "Lukas Dostal is now in net for us. John Gibson has an upper-body injury and will not return to this game," the Ducks announced on X.

The Anaheim Ducks entered the 2024-25 NHL season with cautious optimism. With a blend of promising young talent and veteran leadership, there was hope this season would mark a step forward in their rebuild.

Ducks goaltender John Gibson suffered an upper-body injury during the first period of Saturday night's game against the Nashville Predators and was replaced between periods.

The Anaheim Ducks hosted the Nashville Predators to wrap up their three-game home stand on Saturday night at Honda Center. The Ducks saw a four-game winless streak snap with an offensive outburst on Thursday when they hosted the Penguins, winning that game 5-1 and looking to carry that momentum into Saturday.

Mason McTavish and Alex Killorn each scored twice and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 on Thursday night. Frank Vatrano also scored and Troy Terry and Jacob Trouba each had a pair of assists as the Ducks snapped a four-game winless streak.

Spencer Knight made 34 saves for his second shutout of the season and the Florida Panthers beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-0 on Saturday night to open a home-and-home set.

The Ducks' next game is Tuesday in Seattle.
