For the second straight offseason, the Cleveland Browns are in the hunt for a new offensive coordinator after firing Ken Dorsey after just one year.

After just one season with the team, Rees made his impression on not only the Browns and head coach Kevin Stefanski but also consultant Mike Vrabel as well. There were rumors that Vrabel was going to attempt to poach Rees as his offensive coordinator, but the Browns jumped first.

On Tuesday, Kevin Stefanski hired Browns tight ends coach Tommy Rees, 32 — the former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach — to replace the fired Ken Dorsey. He becomes Stefanski’s third offensive coordinator in the past three seasons, including Alex Van Pelt, who was fired after the 2023 season.
