Apple has unveiled its latest software update, iOS 18.4 beta 2, introducing a suite of new features designed to enhance user interaction with their devices. This release particularly focuses on integrating advanced Siri controls and Apple Intelligence directly into the Control Center for seamless access.

Apple integrated Siri into iPhones in 2011 and the company has been updating the digital assistant ever since. While Apple has brought more capabilities to Siri -- like third-party app integration -- it's still plagued by issues whenever I use it.

Apple Intelligence was supposed to finally deliver a more natural version of Siri, but now, people who work in Apple’s AI department believe the company won’t release a ”true modernized, conversational version of Siri … until iOS 20 at best in 2027,“ writes Bloomberg ’s Mark Gurman in today’s Power On newsletter.
