Laguna Fire initially started today at 9:41 a.m. in Ventura County. It has burned 93.5 acres after being active for 10 hours, an increase of 44 acres since the last update. As of Thursday evening, the fire crew succeeded in containing 70% of the wildfire. However, investigations into the cause are ongoing.

Firefighters made progress on the more than 10,000-acre Hughes Fire Friday, which sent thousands fleeing after sparking near the Los Angeles County community of Castaic a day earlier.

Fire crews are working to put out the approximate 94-acre Laguna Fire near the California State University Channel Islands, which led to the evacuation of the Ventura County campus and a neighboring residential area,

As of 8 p.m., the Laguna Fire was at 70% containment with acreage at 93.5. The fire started Thursday morning near CSU Channel Islands in Camarillo.
