California Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered the parole board to carry out a risk assessment of Lyle and Erik Menendez to determine whether they pose a risk to public safety after spending 35 years in state prison for the 1989 kilings of their parents,

The question for the board is a simple one, do they pose a current ‘unreasonable risk to public safety?”‘ Newsom said.
